B2/C1 Online Conversation Course

Those looking for a fun way to expand their vocabulary by talking about various subjects. 

10 weeks 

Tuesdays:  19:00 – 20:15

Each week, there will be a new topic which students will discuss with the teacher and among themselves in online break out rooms.

Sometimes a video will be watched or an article read before the discussion begins.

B2/C1 Verb Tense Training

Students who wish to understand how to use various tenses correctly when writing or speaking. 

Those wishing to score 6.0-7.0 on an IELTS Test  or a B2 or C1 on a Cambridge exam can benefit.

    • Present Simple and Present Continuous 
    • Past Simple and Present Perfect Simple

B2: Cambridge Business Vantage Preparation Course

Intermediate level speakers who wish to reach fluency level for work related matters.

Students who make great progress will be recommended to take the Cambridge English Vantage exam at B2 level.  

60 weeks: 21 October 2020 – 3 March 2022

Wednesdays 18:00-19:30

Topics common to various company departments and roles will be discussed to give a student a good foundation in business English terms encountered at work. Such roles include: HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Communications.

Students will be encouraged to draw from their own work experiences to take part in role plays of common business meeting and colleague discussion scenarios and presentations..  

Students are expected to complete 1-2 hour homework assignments on a weekly basis except during school holiday breaks.

For Speaking Test Parts 1-3

1. Talk more comfortably answering questions about your job and daily work responsibilities

2. Learn how to share advice on business topics in an organized fashion with only one minute preparation time

3. Feel more confident discussing opinions in a business meeting and learn the language required to politely disagree with colleagues or superiors

C1: Cambridge English Advanced

Students looking to attend university, move abroad or work in management level positions where a high level of English is required will appreciate this course.

Intensive vocabulary learning will be gained through reading texts written for and by native English speakers..

Knowledge gaps in grammar topics will be filled in so that complex sentence structures can be used in their writing.

This C1 Advanced English Course will focus on developing the 4 language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening by exposing student to various advanced level texts and listening exercises.

Students will learn how to teach themselves new vocabulary. Complex grammar points will be explained as simply as possible. Interactive exercises and game-like activities will be available to practice together as a group and away from class to help students retain new vocabulary and apply grammar lessons learned.

There will be 1 to 2 hours of homework assigned per week. Students will be encouraged to choose their own topics to research, entertaining books to read or interesting series to watch.

This course will also familiarize students with the CAE exam style questions.

Students should feel more confident speaking with native speakers, giving presentations at work and writing long texts which contain well-written arguments native speakers will take seriously.
